Klim Kodiak Jacket & Pant Review | Klim Riding Suit

Klim has unveiled a new edition of their Kodiak Jacket and Pant. Their premier touring vehicle is still the Kodiak. There have been improvements made to the cut, style, and physical mobility. Everywhere has a complete set of D3O armor, including the jacket’s back, shoulders, elbows, and chest, as well as the pants’ knees and hips.

The jacket comes with a detachable thermal liner for use in cold weather. In this Klim Kodiak jacket review, we discuss why this set is among the best textile road riding suits available in terms of durability, protection, and ventilation.

Klim Kodiak Jacket & Pant Details

The Klim Kodiak jacket shell is a three-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell. The Performance Shell, a 2-layer laminate made by Gore, is also available, but the Pro Shell is the real deal. Even though it might not be as flexible as the Performance Shell, it will be more robust and reliable. The Kodiak will never wet out and will maintain the rider as dry as ever going to be possible on two wheels thanks to its Gore-Tex laminate construction.

The elbows, sleeves, and rear of the Kodiak jacket are equipped with D30’s highly ventilated Aero Pro protection. A mesh pocket for chest protection is also included. The armor may all be adjusted.

The Kodiak jacket has a minimum of 10 ventilation openings: two on the chest, two up the flanks, two in the back, two on the triceps, and two on the forearms. Additionally, there are straps on the arms that like volume adjustments but are there to hold the vents open to allow for improved ventilation.

For Klim, pockets are also essential. A pocket has occupied any available place on the Kodiak by Klim. A secret passport pocket, a Napoleon pocket, two small pockets for devices or cards, two lower hands warmer pockets, two internal zipped pockets, two internal stash pockets, and eight total pockets are on the jacket.

By using Velcro, the sleeve’s ends are secured. Both the neck collar and the waist have elastic adjusters. Because the Kodiak is more fitted, you get straps behind the shoulders for more articulation to make it as comfortable as possible when driving.

The bottom part of the Klim riding suit is made up of the Klim Kodiak trousers. Since it is explicitly targeted at the touring and commuting audience rather than Klim’s more typical adventure rider, this suit marks a little shift for the brand. The pants have been changed to make them even more appropriate and comfortable for road riding, similar to how the new version jacket has.

Klim Kodiak Pant consisted of a Gore-Tex Pro Shell, similar to the jacket, with perforated leather panels, Level 2 D30 armor all over, a Poron lower back protection, two cargo pockets, and four vents.

The Kodiak pants include four vents, two on the front and two on the back, for riding in warmer weather. There are sliders on the waist and calves for a better fit. To improve visibility at night, you also get two zip pockets and black 3M Scotchlite reflectors.

Finally, the Kodiak pants have a zip that enables them to be linked to any Klim jacket.

Conclusion

The Kodiak deviates from Klim’s norm in that it was created primarily with road riding in mind. You could still travel off-road in the Kodiak because of its massive vents, but that is not its strong suit, and it might feel a little tight. But the Kodiak would be a good choice if you needed a suit you could ride on and off-road.

The Kodiak will appeal to adventure-bike owners and riders, who occasionally go off-road but spend most of their time on the road. We hope you like our Klim Kodiak jacket review.
